Description and Requirements
The position requires an understanding of USGAAP reporting and period-end reporting processes and procedures. The team members will be responsible for preparation of STAT & GAAP Narratives, Variance reconciliation, and annual statutory financial statements. This team member participates in special projects related to process improvements, process flow and system issues to prevent risk of inaccurate reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, & annual reporting for a several invested asset classes and investment vehicles (securities, mortgage loans, real estate, and investment subsidiaries). Reporting includes monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
- Perform analytics and prepare commentary on Balance Sheet, Net Investment Income (NII), and gains/loss movements.
- Perform benchmarking, unrealized loss monitoring, and asset-level analytics for investment portfolios.
- Perform segment-level analytics to assess financial performance, drivers, and variances across business units and geographies.
- Prepare investment analytic attribution analyses.
- Gather information to anticipate and understand investment trends and transactions.
- Deliver ad-hoc analytics, reports, and support special projects as required by management.
- Partners with D&T, Internal Audit and SOX to achieve signoff on quarterly and annual footnotes, MD&A and investment subsidiary financial statements and disclosures.
- Plan and manage deliverables aligned with quarter-end timelines ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Education & Experience: - CA/CPA, 2 to 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting/Investments background.
Technical Skills
- Extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation and disclosures.
- Knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
- Experience in financial services accounting/reporting preferred.
