Role Reports to: Head of New Age Business
Role Overview - Drive origination for StrideOne’s New Age Business vertical — sourcing working capital/debt financing deals for funded startups by building deep relationships across the VC and founder ecosystem, and closing them via our own NBFC book or the syndication desk (banks, NBFCs, impact funds).
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain relationships with VCs, accelerators, and founder networks to generate a steady deal pipeline
• Engage founders directly to understand financing needs and pitch own-book or syndicated solutions
• Manage deals from first conversation to term sheet, coordinating with credit/risk teams
• Work with the syndication desk to place deals with partner banks/NBFCs/impact funds
• Maintain accurate pipeline data and report on origination metrics
Candidate Profile
• 2–5 years in venture debt, startup banking, NBFC lending, or BD in a VC-adjacent role
• Mandatory: prior hands-on experience in debt/lending products (venture debt, working capital, or structured debt) — must understand deal structuring and credit basics, not a pure BD role
• Demonstrable network within the VC/startup ecosystem
• Consultative, relationship-led sales approach
• Strong stakeholder management across founders, VCs, and internal teams
• Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity
