This role involves leading and supporting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities across various projects, ensuring high-quality inspection, evaluation, and reporting as per applicable standards and client requirements. The position is suitable for experienced professionals with strong expertise in multiple NDT techniques, data interpretation, and team coordination within an ISO/NABL-accredited environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, perform, and supervise NDT inspections using techniques such as VT, UT, RT, PT, MT, ET, PAUT, and TOFD.
- Interpret test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards (ASME, API, ASTM), and client specifications.
- Prepare, review, and validate NDT reports with accuracy and technical clarity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Level I and Level II technicians.
- Coordinate with clients for inspection planning, execution, and technical discussions.
- Maintain proper documentation, calibration records, and traceability of inspection data.
- Liaise with third-party agencies and internal departments for project execution.
- Support audits (internal/external) and ensure adherence to ISO/NABL quality systems.
- Contribute to method development, procedure qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of NDT principles, inspection techniques, and defect characterization.
- Ability to prepare techno-commercial proposals and business presentations.
- Good negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability in handling client requirements.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with internal technical and operations teams.
- Self-motivated with result-oriented approach towards business targets.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings.
- Ability to maintain professional documentation and reporting of business activities.
- Ready to travel whenever required for client interactions, requirement discussions, commercial negotiations, and promotion of organizational services.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM).
Qualifications
- DE/BE Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, Certification ASNT Level II in multiple methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT, ET, PAUT & TOFD)
- PCN Level II in UT/PAUT/TOFD preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in NDT inspection and evaluation.
