Job Title: Assistant Manager-Merchant Onboarding / Payments Operations Specialist
Experience: 7–9 Years

Job Purpose
The role is responsible for managing end-to-end merchant onboarding and configuration processes across POS and E-commerce channels. The candidate will ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational procedures while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in onboarding activities.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant Onboarding & Compliance
- Manage onboarding of POS and E-commerce merchants in line with regulatory and internal policies
- Pre-screen merchant agreements, KYC documents, trade licenses, MOA, and related documentation
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance before onboarding
- Perform system validations and negative checks; raise exceptions where required
- Coordinate with compliance teams for approvals and ensure timely processing
Process Management & Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to onboarding policies and procedures across all merchant categories
- Monitor rejected applications and coordinate with business teams for rectification
- Track document deferrals and ensure timely regularization
- Ensure proper holding/release of merchant funds based on compliance status
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Risk (FRMU), and Merchant Services teams
- Provide advisory support to business teams for resolving onboarding-related issues
- Ensure only relevant cases are escalated to compliance
Training & Process Improvement
- Conduct regular training sessions for front-end teams on documentation and policy updates
- Stay updated on policy changes and ensure timely communication to stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce onboarding rejections and delays
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare and maintain daily MIS and productivity reports
- Share periodic MI reports with business and stakeholders
- Update MERs/RCSAs and track operational errors
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regularly
UAT & System Enhancements
- Prepare UAT test cases and support end-to-end testing
- Assist in implementation of system and process changes
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of merchant onboarding, KYC, AML, and payment processing
- Expertise in cards domain and banking operations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, reporting, presentations)
- Experience with card management systems
Qualifications & Experience
- 7–9 years of experience in banking/cards/payments domain
- Hands-on experience in merchant onboarding and compliance processes
