Job Title: Assistant Manager – Mechanical (Solar EPC)
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution
- Supervise mechanical works for solar PV projects (ground-mounted / rooftop).
- Coordinate installation of module mounting structures (MMS), trackers, and related components.
- Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
- Design & Engineering Coordination
- Review mechanical designs including structure layouts, foundation drawings, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with design teams for optimization and resolving site-related issues.
- Validate vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage mechanical contractors and subcontractors at site.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to safety norms.
- Verify bills, measurements, and progress reports.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with QA/QC standards and industry codes.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate with QA teams for stage-wise approvals.
- Maintain documentation for audits and handover.
- Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare and track mechanical work schedules aligned with overall project timelines.
- Identify potential delays and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support project planning using tools like MS Project/Primavera.
- Procurement Support
- Assist procurement team in vendor selection and technical evaluation.
- Review technical specifications for mechanical materials.
- Ensure timely availability of materials at site.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce safety practices at site in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
- Ensure zero-incident culture.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
- Maintain records of site activities, materials, and inspections.
- Provide updates to management on project status.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: 5–10 years in EPC / Solar
- Experience in utility-scale solar projects preferred
Key Skills
- Knowledge of solar mounting structures and trackers
- Project management and execution skills
- Strong understanding of drawings and technical specifications
- Vendor and contractor management
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (preferred), and project planning tools
