Role Description
The Assistant Manager – Instrumentation and new protocol development will support cosmetic clinical trials by ensuring all study-related instruments are compliant, calibrated, and audit-ready as per ICH-GCP, ISO, and relevant instrument manufacturer guidelines. This role safeguards data integrity through meticulous instrument management, documentation, and training, while enabling protocol execution for skin/hair assessment studies.
The role also covers new protocol development using current instruments.
Key Responsibilities
. New protocol Development using instrumentation
- Assist in planning and execution of new measurement protocols for efficacy and safety endpoints in cosmetic studies.
- Research emerging instrument technologies and applications relevant to skin, hair, and anti-aging claims substantiation.
- Review and update instrument SOPs, work instructions, and quality forms to reflect current methods and auditor expectations.
Instrumentation training
-Assist in instrumentation training for operation team and help them in achieving operational expertise as expected for participation in the clinical trials.
- maintain training records for audits.
- Ensure all instrument-related documentation are inspection-ready
- Assist in resolving instrumentation related queries during trial execution.
Calibration, Maintenance & Traceability
- Ensure upkeeping of all instruments at the operational level
- Ensure monthly cleaning and calibration checks for skin and hair assessment instruments.
- Maintain a controlled instrument tracker with calibration certificates, service logs, and due dates aligned with study timelines.
- Proactively flag upcoming calibrations to prevent use of non-compliant equipment during active trial phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in any Science stream, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or related field.
- 2+ years handling bio-instruments in clinical, cosmetic, or dermatological research settings.
- Familiarity with ICH- GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, and cosmetic claim substantiation requirements.
- Strong documentation skills and experience with instrument management systems.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye to identify and trouble shoot issues.
