Role Objective

Design, implement, and maintain factory automation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production operations within a food manufacturing environment.


Requirements

Qualification - B.E Electrical or Instrumentation

Experience Required - Min. 5 Years


Key Responsibilities

1. Automation & Control Systems

  • Design, modify, and optimize automation control systems based on plant requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control documentation.
  • Ensure alignment with production capacity, quality, and safety standards.


2. PLC / SCADA / HMI

  • Program and troubleshoot PLC systems (Siemens / Allen-Bradley or equivalent).
  • Develop and maintain HMI and SCADA applications.
  • Ensure system reliability and minimal downtime.


3. Installation & Commissioning

  • Support installation, testing, and commissioning of machines and automation upgrades.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and internal teams during execution.
  • Validate performance against design specifications.


4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for automation and electrical breakdowns.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
  • Reduce production losses caused by automation failures.


5. Process Improvement

  • Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive automation enhancements for yield, efficiency, and quality improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.


6. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, and safety standards.
  • Maintain safety interlocks and machine safety systems.
  • Support audit readiness and statutory compliance.


7. Documentation & Training

  • Maintain drawings, SOPs, manuals, backups, and change logs.
  • Train operators and maintenance teams for basic troubleshooting and safe operation.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and system continuity.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering.
  • 4–5 years of industrial automation experience in manufacturing.
  • Exposure to food, dairy, pharma, or FMCG preferred.

Technical Skills

  • PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
  • SCADA & HMI development
  • Industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
  • Sensors, actuators, VFDs, servo systems
  • Data handling, diagnostics, and system backup management

Work Environment

  • Shop-floor based role in a 24×7 food manufacturing plant.
