Job Title - Assistant Manager - EHS, External Supply & CSC
Job Purpose*
To lead the implementation of GSK & regulatory Environment, Occupational Health & Safety standards and manage activities pertaining to Environment, Safety & Occupational Health management to ensure safe workplace through efficient & cost-effective utilization of available resources.
The job holder supports implementation of EHS standards as well as Govt. Legislation on these aspects in the External Supply and Warehouse/Distribution Network divided into 4 regions across India.
- External Supply sites (South Hub) – 09 Nos
- Customer Supply Chain warehouses – 24 Nos
Support External Supply South Hub team for EHS compliances relating to 09 CMO sites & 24 warehouses to ensure EHS compliance requirement, enhancement of EHS capability of CMOs, ES team, CFAs and CSC team and embedding EHS culture.
EHS Governance: Implement and continuously monitor the EHS governance process including EHS risks, CAPA compliance, Trainings, Mock drills, AMR & PiE assessments, Campaigns, Audits etc. for External supply and Customer supply chain functions.
AMR Compliance: Support in the effective implementation of the AMR program for antibiotic CMO sites and ensure the sites complying to the requirements also responsible for AMR compliance of upcoming sites and certification in due course.
Pharmaceuticals in the Environment program with global External Supply for all APIs used in ES manufacturing continue the program till all APIs are assessed for their release and implementation of control measures and for any new addition of the APIs as part of new product development.
Customer Supply Chain: Coordinate with all 04 regions RDMs to ensure legal compliance requirements, Culture maturity score enhancement, Warehouse risk assessment and controls, Annual health surveillance and implementation of all EHS aspects.
Occupational Hygiene: Implement effective exposure risk mitigation measures at external supply CMO sites and ensure the sites complying to the requirements.
Plastic Waste EPR compliance: Annual calculation of the amount of pre & post-consumer plastic introduced in the market by the entities (GSK India - Brand Owner, GSK India - Importer, GSK Pharma India Pvt. Ltd. - Importer, Biddle Sawyer Ltd - Importer & Biddle Sawyer Limited - Brand Owner) for on time submission of all annual reports.
Sustainability: Monitor the sustainability initiatives across the External supply CMOs and recommend best practices in Water conservation, Energy conservation and Waste minimization.
Assess and Improve GPS Maturity and VQMS co-ordination for DI, deviation handling and investigation for ES EHS Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparing SOPs, training modules and delivering training to ES & CSC staff & CMOs, Capability Building of CMOs & CFAs to improve EHS maturity. Communications of relevant EHS information to CMOs as part of product transfers & NPI.
- Preparation of audit & inspection schedule for CMOs and Warehouses, perform audits, CAPA management, perform Due Diligence of new CMOs/Warehouses.
- ICF compliance includes Change Management, MM & IBM Audits, Risk Management, Tiered Accountability Meetings, EHS Councils, Management Reviews and Business Review meetings with CMOs.
- Industrial Hygiene: IH Assessments at CMOs, implementation of controls and monitor compliance.
- Antimicrobial Resistance Program: Assess all antibiotic CMOs assessed for AMR compliance and adequate controls in place to curb releases within PNEC limits.
- Pharmaceuticals in the Environment: Assessment of all APIs at CMOs sites for release potential and implement control to curb withing PNEC limits.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure all legal licenses are in place and renewed periodically. Ensure compliance with the regulatory reporting requirements.
- Compliance to Plastic Waste Management EPR requirements for India Entity including Nashik site, External Supply and Imported products.
- Environmental Sustainability at CMOs, supporting corporate function submission of Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR)
- Manage External Supply & CSC governance framework.

The job holder should be graduate in engineering (preferably) or science with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as core subjects. International Diploma/post graduate qualification in Health & Safety or Environment Management from recognized board/university.

Should have thorough knowledge of EHSS Standards, Management Systems and auditing skills.

Working knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standard requirements.
Excellent EHS topics training skills.
Knowledge of Risk Assessment techniques & Emergency procedures etc.
