Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DRI Asst. Manager for our facility in Rourkela, Odisha, to oversee process parameters and ensure high product quality. You will manage kiln operations, optimize sponge iron yield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization: Monitor kiln temperatures and raw material parameters to control accretion and improve campaign life.
- Energy & Efficiency: Maximize steam flow to Waste Heat Recovery Boilers (WHRB) for power generation and lead cost-reduction projects.
- Quality & Analysis: Ensure sponge iron meets internal specifications and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any deviations within 48 hours.
- Shutdown Management: Execute kiln shutdown and accretion cutting plans to optimize duration year-on-year.
- Team Leadership: Define team objectives, conduct performance reviews, and provide technical training to prevent skill-related production losses.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain zero safety incidents, ensure 100% IMS/ISO adherence, and promote 5S standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.E. in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, specifically in DRI plants with Rotary Kiln processes >100 TPH.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in kiln life cycles, accretion removal techniques, and specific consumption (coal/iron/power) monitoring.
- Core Competencies: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to handle external audits and SOP implementation.
