The Lead Design Engineer directs complex CAD software design projects, establishing technical approaches, system parameters, and engineering standards while ensuring alignment with mechanical, materials, environmental, and reliability requirements. The role leads the development of CAD applications, utilities, and design documentation, evaluates materials and vendors, and collaborates across globally distributed engineering teams to enable high-quality subsystem design, fabrication, and deployment.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Develop the Concept Design for Electromechanical Product. Where need to work on the Part Modelling, Actuation system, Proto Build to prove the Design. (20%).
- Need to Work on Project Documentation per APQP Guidelines. Do the Design Calculation, Simulation of Components, Tolerance Stack up, DFMEA (30%).
- Define material, equipment, and supply requirements, and assess vendor capabilities to support design execution and project needs (20%).
- Support mechanical design, materials science, environmental testing, reliability, and failure-analysis activities to ensure robust system performance (20%).
- Coordinate with geographically distributed engineering teams to drive timely integration, fabrication, and deployment of subsystem designs (10%).
Representative Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- 8–12+ years of progressive experience in CAD software development, design engineering, or systems engineering
- Advanced proficiency with CAD platforms, design automation, modeling tools, and engineering analysis methods
- Strong knowledge of materials science, mechanical design principles, and environmental and reliability testing practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex design projects, make high-level technical decisions, and evaluate vendor and material suitability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including experience working with distributed engineering teams
- Knowledge of Tolerancing system, GD&T, Stack up, Spring Calculations.
- Knowledge of Elctro mechanical system, PCB, Magnet, IC.
- Experience of Field Failure Analysis, 8D Tools.
- Experience in VAVE Projects to deliver the Department Saving Goals
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver high-quality design outputs
- Commitment to mentoring, cross-functional partnership, and continuous improvement in engineering practices
