Role Summary
The Assistant Manager – Accounts plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the resort. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. The incumbent will work closely with the General Manager and department heads to drive financial discipline across the property.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
Maintain daily accounting entries including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Maintain trial balance, balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
2. Revenue & Expense Management
Monitor revenue streams across F&B, Front Office, Events, and ancillary services.
Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures and report findings to management.
Review and authorize departmental purchase requisitions and vendor invoices.
Oversee petty cash management, float reconciliation, and expense reimbursements.
3. Compliance & Taxation
Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory obligations applicable to the hospitality sector.
Coordinate with external auditors for statutory and internal audits.
Maintain accurate records for tax filings and liaise with tax consultants as required.
Ensure adherence to all financial policies, standard operating procedures, and legal requirements.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting
Assist the General Manager in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
Prepare financial models and scenario analyses to support business planning.
5. Systems & Process Management
Oversee the integrity of the CRM’s financial modules.
Implement and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
Adhere to best practices and be adept in system usage.
Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Competencies - Technical Skills & Soft Skills
Proficiency in Tally and Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Knowledge of PMS financial modules
GST, TDS, and Indian Account Standards familiarity
Financial modelling and forecasting
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Work Environment & Conditions
Role may involve working on weekends, public holidays, and during peak occupancy seasons.
Requires handling confidential financial information with the utmost discretion.
Deadline-driven environment and must be comfortable with high-pressure periods during audits and closings.

Timely and accurate submission of monthly MIS reports.
Zero audit observations / nil statutory non-compliance instances.
Variance between actual vs. budgeted costs maintained within defined thresholds.
Bank reconciliation and ledger accuracy rate.
Improvement in accounts payable / receivable cycle times.
Self performance and retention metrics.
