Manager / Assistant Manager – Business Operations & Lender Partnerships
Location: Mumbai
Experience: 2–5 years
Function: Business Operations
Industry: Fintech / Digital Lending / NBFC / Banking
Reporting: Senior Management
About Supermoney
Supermoney is an enterprise-led Supply Chain Finance platform working with large corporate anchors, their MSME dealer/vendor ecosystems, and multiple banks and NBFCs.
We manage the operating layer across anchor programmes, borrower acquisition, lender coordination, credit movement, limit activation and utilisation. The role therefore sits at the intersection of business, credit and execution.
About the Role:
We are looking for a high-ownership Business Operations professional who can act as the execution bridge between Sales, Credit, Operations, Anchors and our lending partners.
This is not a conventional back-office operations or MIS role.
The person will own the movement of business from opportunity → lender allocation → credit evaluation → sanction → limit activation → utilisation, identify bottlenecks before they become escalations, and help management improve conversion, turnaround times and lender performance.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable getting into individual cases when required while simultaneously maintaining a portfolio-level view of pipelines, lender capacity, ageing and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lender & Case Execution
- Own day-to-day business coordination across Supermoney's active banks and NBFC partners.
- Drive cases from initial lender allocation through credit evaluation, sanction, documentation, limit activation and first utilisation.
- Maintain disciplined follow-up on lender queries, approvals and pending actions, with clear ownership and escalation.
- Ensure Sales and lender pendencies are identified and acted upon within agreed TATs, with a target of 95%+ actionable items addressed within 48 hours.
- Track lender-wise available capacity, NTB appetite, programme limits, policy changes and operational constraints so that cases are routed appropriately.
- Identify sanctioned-but-not-live and live-but-not-utilised cases and drive them to commercial closure.
2. Pre-Sales & Case Quality
- Conduct an initial business and documentation review of non-FLDG cases before submission to lending partners.
- Assess whether the case is broadly aligned with the relevant lender programme/policy and ensure basic documentation readiness.
- Work with Sales and Credit to close obvious gaps before lender submission, thereby reducing avoidable queries and rework.
- Build institutional knowledge of lender appetite, credit filters and common rejection/deviation themes to improve sourcing quality and conversion.
This role will not independently underwrite or sanction credit; final credit decisions remain with the relevant lending institution / Credit team.
3. Anchor Programme Operations
- Own business operations for assigned anchor programmes, initially including Supermoney's IT/ITES and other key enterprise relationships.
- Coordinate across the Anchor, lender, Sales, Credit and internal Operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and programme execution.
- Track programme-level pipeline, sanctions, activations, utilisation and unresolved issues.
- Act as the central internal owner for operational escalations affecting an assigned programme.
- Support activation and scaling of new anchor-lender programmes once commercial and credit structures have been agreed.
4. Business Control Tower & MIS
- Maintain a single, accurate view of the business pipeline across stages including:
- Pre-sales / documentation
- Login
- Credit WIP / lender queries
- Awaiting sanction
- Sanctioned
- Processing fee / documentation pending
- Limit activation pending
- Live but undisbursed
- Utilisation
- Monitor ageing at every stage and highlight exceptions rather than merely reporting totals.
- Prepare concise daily/weekly management dashboards covering lender TATs, programme performance, bottlenecks, conversion and actions required.
- Ensure CRM and business trackers remain aligned and materially accurate.
- Gradually help reduce manual reporting by working with Product/Data teams to systemise recurring MIS.
5. Lender & Programme Performance
- Track lender-wise conversion, sanction TAT, activation TAT, utilisation and key reasons for rejection/pendency.
- Identify cases where lender performance, programme structure or internal processes are constraining business.
- Provide management with actionable observations such as:
- cases that can be moved to alternate lenders;
- programmes where available limits are underutilised;
- recurring policy/deviation issues;
- anchor programmes requiring intervention; and
- bottlenecks preventing sanctioned limits from generating AUM.
6. Policy, Deviation & Incentive Roll-outs
- Coordinate implementation of lender/programme deviation matrices, sourcing filters and business incentive structures.
- Ensure changes are clearly communicated to the relevant Sales and Operations teams.
- Maintain current versions of programme-level operating guidelines and key lender requirements.
7. Cross-functional & Strategic Execution
- Work closely with Sales, Credit, Operations, Finance, Product and senior management on high-priority business initiatives.
- Take ownership of short-cycle projects and management priorities where strong coordination and execution are required.
- Build processes where recurring activities currently depend on individual follow-up or manual intervention.
What Success Looks Like
The person should be able to independently:
- Run the lender/business operating rhythm without senior-management intervention on routine matters.
- Maintain high visibility on every material case and programme bottleneck.
- Ensure >95% of actionable Sales/lender pendencies are addressed within agreed TAT.
- Reduce ageing between sanction and limit activation.
- Improve quality of cases reaching lending partners.
- Improve conversion of sanctioned limits into active/utilised AUM.
- Produce concise, accurate management MIS with clear actions—not simply data.
- Become the internal go-to person for understanding where each key lender programme and business pipeline stands.
Candidate Profile
We would prefer candidates with 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following environments:
- Fintech / digital lending platform
- NBFC or Bank – SME/MSME lending
- Supply Chain Finance / Channel Finance
- Lending partnership / alliance operations
- Credit or Sales Operations in a multi-lender environment
Prior experience coordinating with multiple Banks/NBFCs and handling MSME lending cases will be strongly preferred.
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of SME/MSME lending lifecycle from sourcing through sanction and activation.
- Ability to understand lender policies and identify obvious case-fit/documentation gaps.
- Very strong stakeholder management and follow-up discipline.
- Ability to push Sales teams and lender teams equally firmly while maintaining relationships.
- High comfort with Google Sheets / Excel, CRM systems, pipeline MIS and data analysis.
- Ability to convert data into actions and escalations.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail without losing sight of business outcomes.
- Ability to operate comfortably in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with changing priorities.
The Kind of Person We Are Looking For
This role will suit someone who naturally asks:
“What is stopping this case from moving, who needs to act, and by when?”
rather than someone whose role ends after updating the status in a tracker.
We are looking for someone who is structured, commercially aware, persistent and execution-oriented, and who wants to build the operating backbone of a rapidly scaling MSME lending platform.
