Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Sattur. The Assistant Manager – Advance Licence is responsible for the end-to-end administration, compliance monitoring, utilisation, and closure of Advance Authorisation (Advance Licence) under the Foreign Trade Policy. The role ensures regulatory compliance, timely fulfilment of export obligations, and effective coordination with internal teams, DGFT, and Customs authorities to mitigate business and financial risks.
Key Responsibilities

Advance Licence & DGFT Operations
- Preparation and filing of new Advance Licence applications on the DGFT portal, including Appendix 4E.
- Verification of Import–Export worksheets, quantities, eligibility, and duty calculations.
- Filing of Norms Fixation applications, including CAD marker and consumption norm verification.
Export Obligation & EODC Closure
- Preparation and submission of EODC applications for both single and clubbed licences, including documentation under Appendix 4F, 4H, and 4C.
- Monitoring licence validity, EO timelines, closures, and compliance obligations.
Import & Export Compliance
- Verification of import and export shipment checklists under Advance Licence schemes.
- Maintenance of licence-wise accounting of imports and exports, tracking balances and utilization.
- Advising Export and Import teams on Advance Licence details, conditions, and usage prior to shipment execution.
Coordination & Follow-ups
- Coordination with Logistics teams for follow-up and receipt of E-BRC / EBRC for licence closure.
- Ensuring complete filing of Shipping Bills, Bills of Entry, Invoices, and E-BRCs required for audits and closures.
Regulatory & Statutory Interface
- Attending Show Cause Notices and hearings at DGFT offices (Coimbatore / Chennai) and Chennai Customs with proper documentation and replies.
- Replying to deficiency letters raised by authorities for new licences, norms fixation, and EODC applications.
- Arranging payment of TR-6 challans at Customs for unutilized import quantities, where applicable.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Periodic reporting to management on pending Export Obligations, licence expiry risks, and financial liabilities.
- Supporting internal audits, statutory inspections, and compliance reviews related to EXIM operations.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Foreign Trade Policy, Advance Authorisation Scheme, and DGFT procedures
- Hands-on experience with DGFT portal and Customs documentation
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and compliance orientation
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / Post-Graduate in Commerce, International Business, or related discipline
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in Advance Licence / EXIM compliance
- Prior interaction with DGFT, Customs, and logistics functions preferred
