Position Summary
The Assistant Curator supports curated book list development, librarian engagement, metadata management, publisher coordination, and supports digital/library software initiatives within the Library Vertical.
Key Responsibilities
Align curated book lists with consultant recommendations and school requirements in coordination with the Consultant & Assistant Manager for functional operations
Communicate with school librarians to understand reading levels, age appropriateness, gaps, and collection needs (engage at least once per fortnight).
Ensure age-appropriate, curriculum-aligned, and genre-balanced curated lists with Assistant Manager.
Coordinate with publishers for availability, pricing, editions, and substitution options
Recommend alternative titles with logical reasoning when primary options are unavailable (
Maintain highly accurate metadata including ISBN, price, publisher, category, and reading level.
Prepare accurate quotations with correct pricing and terms in coordination with Assistant Manager
Support library software demos and onboarding at schools.
Provide structured feedback to Consultant and Manager on curation trends, school expectations, and market patterns.
Collect librarian feedback post-delivery for a defined percentage of completed orders.
Qualifications
Graduate degree in Literature, Education, Library Science, or related field (Postgraduate preferred).
1–4 years of experience in curation, publishing, editorial work, or school library operations.
Knowledge of children’s literature, genres, reading levels, and age-appropriate selections.
Experience collaborating with librarians or academic coordinators.
Strong attention to detail in documentation and metadata management.
Competency in Excel, quotation preparation, and digital library tools.
