Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and hospitality-focused Assistant General Manager (Unit Head) to oversee the complete operations of our premier resort in Pondicherry. As the Unit Head, you will be entirely responsible for day-to-day operations, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team leadership. You will ensure the resort maintains the highest standards of service while seamlessly blending Pondicherry’s unique cultural charm with luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Unit Management
- Oversee all core resort departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage (F&B), Kitchen, Maintenance, and Security.
- Ensure smooth, seamless day-to-day operations that align with the brand's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain the physical property to the highest standards, ensuring regular preventive maintenance and safety compliance.
2. Guest Experience & Quality Assurance
- Act as the face of the resort, interacting with guests, gathering feedback, and personally handling high-profile VIPs.
- Maintain an exceptionally high standard of customer service, proactively resolving guest grievances to ensure positive online reviews (TripAdvisor, Google, OTA platforms).
- Infuse local Pondicherry culture, aesthetics, and hospitality nuances into the guest experience.
3. Financial Acumen & Revenue Growth
- Drive the unit's profitability by managing operational budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing/Revenue management teams to maximize room occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and F&B revenue.
- Review monthly P&L statements and implement corrective actions to meet financial targets.
4. Team Leadership & Talent Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of department heads and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Oversee staff training programs, performance evaluations, and grievance handling to maintain high employee morale and low turnover.
5. Compliance & Local Liaisoning
- Ensure compliance with all local government regulations, health & safety laws, licensing, and environmental norms.
- Maintain healthy relationships with local vendors, community stakeholders, and authorities in Pondicherry.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management / Any related graduation from a reputed institute.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in luxury resorts or 4/5-star hotels, with at least 2–3 years in a core leadership role.
