Job Objective
The objective of this role is to ensure a steady supply of skilled labour, managing workforce-related issues, and maintaining positive labour relations. This involves strategic sourcing, recruitment, on boarding, performance management, conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. The role holder acts as a bridge between the company, its workers (including contractors and subcontractors), and external agencies, contributing to the overall success of construction projects.
KeyResponsibility
Labour Sourcing and Recruitment:
· Identifying and anticipating labour needs based on project timelines and requirements.
· Developing and implementing effective hiring strategies, including job postings, networking, and outreach to labour agencies.
Labour Contractor Hiring & Network Development
· Develop and manage a pan-India network of reliable, trade-specific labour contractors (shuttering, masonry, bar-bending, plastering, tiling, etc.) for buildings and factory works.
· Build and manage a centralized database of labour contractors, capturing mobilisable strength, trade specialization, performance history, and compliance status.
· Design and implement standardized onboarding, evaluation, and re-engagement criteria to support project execution teams.
Labour Contractor Retention, Welfare & Relationship Management
· Identify and nurture long-term, high-performing labour contractors to reduce dependence on site-level sourcing.
· Introduce loyalty models (preferred partner programs, volume-linked incentives, exclusive access to future tenders, etc.).
· Lead quarterly and annual contractor review sessions to build trust, resolve issues, and improve satisfaction.
· Design and deploy site-specific productivity metrics and tracking in coordination with Projects and planning teams.
· Work with HO HR and Safety to roll out labour orientation, safety induction, and trade upskilling programs.
· Monitor and ensure statutory compliance, safety standards, and grievance redressal in alignment with SHCPPL's site protocols.
Labour Resource Process & Systems Standardization
· Establish SOPs and policy guidelines for labourmobilization, contractor selection, re-deployment, and exit.
· Collaborate with ERP/IT to implement digital tracking of labour headcount, trade-wise availability, and productivity.
· Align processes across HO and sites to reduce variability and standardize performance expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications
Graduate with PG Diploma in Labour Laws
Experience
20 years’ experience in the relevant field

· Understanding of Construction Processes: Knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.

· Relationship Management: The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees, labour unions, and other stakeholders.
