Role Description
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that all activities and services meet the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include team management, customer service, vendor coordination, operational oversight, and collaboration with the marketing and partnerships team. The AGM will play a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences, implementing operational improvements, and achieving business goals. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
Leadership & Operations
• Support the General Manager in overall business operations
• Supervise supervisors and floor teams to ensure smooth daily operations and execution
• Conduct daily operational briefings and performance reviews
• Ensure SOPs, safety standards, and operational guidelines are followed
• Handle operational escalations during peak hours
Customer Experience & Escalations
• Ensure premium customer experience across gaming and café zones
• Handle VIP customers, complaints, refunds, and escalations
• Monitor customer feedback and implement service improvements
• Maintain high standards of hospitality and professionalism
Team Management & Training
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, discipline, and productivity
• Support hiring, onboarding, and team training
• Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs
• Build a strong service-oriented culture across teams
Café & Revenue Operations
• Oversee café operations, hygiene, food safety, and stock management
• Monitor POS operations, cash handling, discounts, and reconciliations
• Ensure upselling initiatives and revenue targets are achieved
• Control wastage, pilferage, and unnecessary operational expenses
Inventory & Vendor Coordination
• Monitor gaming accessories, café inventory, merchandise, and supplies
• Coordinate with vendors and maintenance teams
• Always ensure stock availability and operational readiness
Events & Guest Experience
• Coordinate birthday parties and private events
• Ensure smooth guest flow and memorable customer experiences
• Work closely with event coordinators and supervisors during events
Reporting & Compliance
• Review operational reports and KPI performance
• Track risks, operational issues, and improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance with safety, audit, and operational standards
Requirements
• Experience in operations, hospitality, gaming café, entertainment, retail, F&B, or customer service management
• Strong leadership and team handling skills
• Ability to manage operations under pressure
• Good communication and customer handling abilities
• Knowledge of reporting, POS systems, and operational processes preferred
• Willingness to work weekends and peak business hours
