Role Description The Assistant General Manager will support overall operations and management activities at the Ghazipur site in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role includes overseeing day-to-day departmental performance, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety guidelines. The Assistant General Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives, monitor key performance indicators, and resolve operational issues promptly. Responsibilities also include managing budgets, optimizing resource utilization, mentoring team members, and preparing regular reports for senior leadership. The role requires active engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement and alignment with HFCL’s business objectives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with the ability to guide teams, delegate effectively, and build a collaborative work environment.
- Strong operations and process management skills, including experience in production planning, workflow optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Knowledge of telecom, fiber optics, or manufacturing industry practices, standards, and quality frameworks is highly beneficial.
- Proficiency in using office productivity tools and relevant enterprise systems for reporting, documentation, and coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a mid to senior management role within technology, manufacturing, or telecom sectors, preferably at a similar scale of operations.
- Ability to work on-site in Ghazipur, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
