Job Description – Assistant Financial Controller
CA- Post 3+years candidate with First or second attempt
Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the position is to carry out responsibilities for assigned hotel properties in the following functional areas: financial statement preparation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, daily revenue, and cash reconciliations, as well as support managers with the staff accountant team and other finance projects.
Work Performed:
The position will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:
• Preparing monthly financial statements in collaboration with the Hotel and Corporate
• Accounting team and ensuring completion of month end close operations.
• Reconciling bank accounts daily and balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reviewing hotel income journals and posting to the General Ledger daily, making
• corrections or recommendations as required.
• Assisting in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting data and processes and recommending.
• new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect improvement in department efficiency and services.
• Maintaining and reviewing accounting records and compiles reports from the database.
• Supporting and assisting in the review of staff accountant work product
• Working closely with assigned property personnel to ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
• Assisting management with training Corporate Staff Accountants and is available as an internal resource.
• Assisting on key projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
