About Intentfin Ventures
Intentfin Ventures is a global fractional finance firm working with venture-backed startups and scaleups across the US, UK, and other international markets. We act as the finance execution layer for high-growth companies post-fundraise, helping them build investor-grade financial systems, reporting, and decision frameworks. Our work sits at the intersection of accounting, FP&A, and strategic finance. We do not operate as a traditional accounting firm. We partner closely with founders, CFOs, and investors to bring structure, speed, and clarity to financial decision-making.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will act as the operational and analytical backbone for multiple international clients. You will be responsible for owning the finance function end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, speed, and insight across reporting, controls, and planning. You will work directly with managers, founders, and global stakeholders, translating raw financial data into structured outputs that support business decisions and investor conversations. This role requires someone who can think beyond execution, identify gaps, and proactively drive improvements in financial systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations & Control
• Own end-to-end accounting workflows across international clients (US/UK primarily)
• Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting timelines
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit-readiness of financial data
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement structured improvements
2. FP&A & Strategic Support
• Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
• Support decision-making through scenario analysis and forward-looking projections
• Prepare investor-ready MIS and reporting packs
3. Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Work closely with founders, CFOs, and external partners
• Handle financial queries with clarity and ownership
• Maintain high standards of communication and responsiveness
4. Team Oversight & Quality Control
• Review work delivered by Associates and ensure quality standards
• Drive adherence to internal SOPs and review processes
• Mentor junior team members and improve team output quality
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Qualification: US CPA or Chartered Accountant (CA) is strongly preferred
• Experience: 6+ years in international accounting and finance
• Strong exposure to US GAAP / UK accounting frameworks
• Proven experience in FP&A, financial modelling, and reporting
• Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero
• Experience working with startups or high-growth environments is a strong plus
What We Are Looking For (Non-Negotiables)
• High ownership mindset. You do not wait for instructions
• Clear and confident communication with global stakeholders
• Strong analytical thinking. You can interpret numbers, not just prepare them
• Ability to work in ambiguity and structure messy financial data
• Attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
