Experience Level: 2–4 years

Role Purpose

To support the Ethics Officer in executing ENGIE’s Ethics & Compliance Framework, including Due Diligence, Anti‑Corruption, Investigations, Policies, Conflicts of Interest, and Governance processes. The role ensures timely and effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external service providers to uphold ENGIE’s global standards of ethics, transparency, and integrity.

Qualifications & Background

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) or/and;
  • Company Secretary (CS) qualification or/and;
  • Degree or certification in Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, or related fields

Experience:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Investigations.
  • Experience handling due diligence, risk assessments, governance processes, investigations or compliance coordination is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research and analytical ability.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and deadline discipline.
  • Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and comfort using AI tools.
  • Understanding of anti‑corruption frameworks (FCPA, UKBA, Sapin II) and Indian regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities

1. Third‑Party Due Diligence & Risk Screening

  • Conduct and document Level‑1 and Level‑2 due diligence using databases and open‑source tools.
  • Analyse adverse media, regulatory actions, litigation, sanctions, or compliance findings.
  • Prepare concise due diligence summaries consistent with ENGIE standards.
  • Support recommendation of risk mitigation measures (declarations, clarifications, enhanced checks).
  • Maintain audit-ready due diligence records and trackers.


2. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (Procurement, Finance, HR, CSR, Operations, HSE, Business Teams, Legal) for due diligence requests and clarifications.
  • Liaise with external due‑diligence service providers to initiate checks and ensure timely completion.
  • Track all due diligence requests, report statuses, and stakeholder communications.


3. Budget, Payment & Vendor Tracking

  • Maintain trackers for Ethics & Compliance budget utilisation.
  • Monitor purchase orders, invoices, and payments to external service providers.
  • Support Finance/Procurement coordination for vendor payments and documentation.


4. Anti‑Corruption & Ethics Compliance

  • Support implementation of ENGIE’s Anti‑Corruption Program including Gifts & Hospitality, Sponsorship & Patronage, COI, and Third‑Party Risk Management.
  • Assist with analysis consistent with gifts and hospitality policy questions.
  • Assist with managing the Conflict of Interest declaration process and maintain records.


5. Investigations & Ethics Case Support

  • Assist in fact‑gathering, data compilation, and interview scheduling for internal investigations.
  • Prepare case summaries and update the Common Ethics Tool.
  • Maintain secure investigation files.


6. Policy Governance & Controls

  • Administer ENGIE policies on the policy management platform.
  • Support policy updates, version control, and acknowledgment tracking.
  • Conduct compliance gaps identification and maintain audit‑ready documentation.


7. Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics

  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly dashboards (DD, COI, training, ethics KPIs).
  • Use analytics, Power BI, , AI tools to develop structured reporting.
  • Maintain audit-ready compliance data.


8. Training, Awareness & Communication

  • Coordinate Ethics & Compliance training sessions and maintain training completion records.
  • Assist with communication materials such as posters, emailers, and presentations.


9. Administrative & Project Support

  • Coordinate meetings, prepare MOMs, and track follow‑ups.
  • Support audits, assessments, and special compliance projects.
