Purpose:
To lead and optimize the entire supply chain ecosystem—spanning demand planning, procurement, inventory management, production planning and logistics—ensuring the right material reaches the right place, at the right time, and cost-effectively. The role aligns local SCM operations with global S&OP processes and drives the implementation of robust systems for responsiveness, agility, and long-term supplier performance.
Scope and KPI’s
Oversee RM/PM procurement, demand and production planning, inbound and outbound logistics, and inventory management.
Drive alignment with global demand planning processes.
Lead sourcing strategy, vendor development, and stores operations (raw materials and finished goods).
Ensure continuous feed to production with zero stock-outs and minimum excess inventory.
Responsibilities
- Integrated Demand Planning & S&OP Alignment
- Establish a robust demand planning system in collaboration with the Global Demand Planning Manager.
- Lead the monthly S&OP cycle for materials requirement planning, aligning forecasts with market trends and feedback from production schedules.
- Production Planning Oversight
- Supervise the Production Planning Manager and ensure optimal schedule adherence and material flow across production units.
- Translate sales forecasts into actionable production and procurement plans.
- Procurement and Sourcing Strategy
- Oversee the Procurement Manager and lead sourcing initiatives across RM, PM, and indirect materials.
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships, contracts, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop strategic partners for outsourced manufacturing.
- Drive cost optimization and local/global vendor development initiatives.
- Inventory and Stores Management
- Supervise RM/FG store managers to maintain accurate inventory, efficient warehousing, and minimal obsolescence.
- Drive down inventory through 360 degree control of material flow and consumption.
- Implement safety stock and EOQ strategy/processes.
- Implement JIT and Kanban systems to balance inventory carrying cost and availability.
- Logistics and Distribution
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of materials (inbound) and finished goods (outbound).
- Coordinate dispatch activities with internal and external logistics partners.
- Systems, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement
- Lead digital SCM transformation (ERP, planning tools, dashboards).
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, IMS, GMP, and external regulations.
- Champion continuous improvement (CI), LEAN supply chain, and sustainability initiatives.
- NPD support
- Work with product development team to challenge products and timelines, follow up cross factory planning with other regions.
- Ensure timely arrangement of materials and source new materials as per requirement.
- MIS reporting
- Sales, Purchase and Inventory reports, Customer service levels, SKU portfolio
- Global dashboards update
- Team Development and Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing SCM team with a focus on accountability, agility, and ownership.
- Work closely with Production, Sales, Quality, and Finance to ensure end-to-end SCM alignment.
Qualifications
PGDM- Supply chain Management, Bachelor of Engineering, with 10-15 years' experience in Supply chain management.
