Core Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Pedagogical Innovation
- Design and deliver studio-based and theory-driven courses across:
- Urban systems & planning
- Interior spatial design
- Visual and communication design
- Employ critique-based, inquiry-led, and project-driven pedagogy
- Integrate emerging tools (AI, parametric design, XR, data visualization) into studio culture
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate theses
2. Research & Thought Leadership
- Develop a distinct research agenda aligned with:
- Urban futures and smart cities
- Sustainable and regenerative design
- Human-centered and behavioral design
- Design systems and communication ecologies
- Publish in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and design platforms
- Contribute to the University’s ambition to produce globally influential design research
- Secure research funding, grants, and industry-sponsored projects
3. Practice & Industry Engagement
- Maintain an active professional or consulting practice
- Build partnerships with:
- Architecture and design firms
- Urban policy bodies
- Creative industries and media organizations
- Lead live studios, real-world projects, and interdisciplinary collaborations
4. Institutional Contribution
- Participate in curriculum design aligned with global accreditation standards
- Mentor students in competitions, exhibitions, and publications
- Contribute to building Woxsen as a globally recognized design and innovation hub
- Support rankings, accreditation, and internationalization initiatives
Required Qualifications
For Assistant Professor
- Master’s degree (M.Des / M.Arch / M.Plan / MFA or equivalent) from a globally reputed institution
- Demonstrated potential in teaching, research, or professional practice
- Emerging portfolio of publications, exhibitions, or built work
For Associate Professor
- PhD in Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, or related field (preferred or required depending on track)
- Minimum 6–8 years of academic and/or industry experience
- Strong record of:
- Peer-reviewed publications
- Funded research or significant design practice
- Academic leadership and curriculum development
