Job Description
We are a fast-growing startup developing cutting-edge Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargers, with a focus on delivering reliable, innovative, and high-performance solutions for the evolving EV market.
We are looking for a motivated and disciplined
Assembly Technician to join our production team. We provides structured, hands-on exposure to real production-floor assembly operations across mechanical, electrical, and electronic domains. You will work directly under the supervision of experienced Assembly Technicians and the Production Supervisor, contributing to live production while building foundational skills in assembly, wiring, PCB handling, and quality discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY
- Assist in assembling mechanical enclosures, mounting brackets, panels, and structural subassemblies for EV chargers under direct supervision, following visual SOPs and pictorial work instructions.
- Learn and apply correct fastener torque values using calibrated torque wrenches and power screwdrivers under technician guidance.
- Support fitment checks on sheet metal enclosures, cable entry points, and hardware installation. Flag dimensional deviations or surface defects to the supervising technician.
- Assist with installation of cable management hardware including cable trays, glands, bushings, and strain reliefs as directed.
- ELECTRICAL WIRING & HARNESS ASSEMBLY
- Assist in routing and dressing wiring harnesses control and signal circuits.
- Learn and practise crimping of ferrules and pin terminals on low-voltage wiring.
- Support wire identification, labelling, sleeving, and cable tie-down activities per BOM and harness layout requirements.
- Observe and learn HV safety protocols, LOTO procedures, and correct PPE usage.
- PCB HANDLING & SUB-ASSEMBLY INTEGRATION
- Handle PCBs, control modules, and populated assemblies.
- Assist in mounting and securing PCBs, DIN rail components, relays, and contactors onto chassis or back-panels as directed.
- Perform visual inspection of PCB assemblies for physical damage, contamination, or missing components.
- Maintain ESD discipline throughout the production floor.
- REWORK & REPAIR
- Assist in rework tasks.
- Learn to use a digital multimeter for basic continuity and voltage checks.
- Assist in disassembly of returned or failed units.
- PRODUCTION FLOOR DISCIPLINE
- Maintain a clean, organised, and 5S-compliant workstation at all times; follow all production floor safety rules without exception.
- Participate in daily pre-shift briefings, report unsafe conditions, tool anomalies, or SOP ambiguities to the supervising technician.
Required Qualifications
- Completed an ITI course in Electrician, mechanical, Fitter, or Electronic Mechanic trade from a recognised board.
- Basic familiarity with common hand tools demonstrated through coursework or prior workshop exposure.
- Awareness of electrical safety fundamentals.
- Ability to follow pictorial and visual work instructions without requiring text-based drawing interpretation.
- Language proficiency - must be able to read and communicate in any two of the following - English, Hindi, Kannada.
- Willingness to work on a production floor, including standing shifts, use of PPE, and adherence to 5S and safety disciplines.
