Counsel - Private Sector Investment & Treasury Operations (Based in Beijing, China)

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is an international financial institution whose mission is financing the Infrastructure for Tomorrow—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. AIIB began operations in January 2016 and has since grown to 105 approved members from around the world. AIIB is rated AAA by the major international credit rating agencies. We are looking for a Counsel to join our Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) in Beijing, China. The Counsel will be responsible for: - Providing legal and policy advice on AIIB's private sector investment operations, including structuring, negotiating and documenting AIIB's investments and financing facilities. - Advising on legal, regulatory and compliance matters related to AIIB's treasury operations. - Drafting and negotiating financing and other legal documentation for AIIB's private sector investments and treasury operations. - Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and assessing their impact on AIIB's operations. - Supporting the development of AIIB's private sector investment and treasury policies and procedures. To be successful in this role, you will need: - A law degree from a reputable university and admission to the bar in your home jurisdiction. - At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in an international development finance institution, multilateral development bank or other similar institution. - Strong knowledge of international banking, finance and investment laws and regulations. - Excellent drafting, negotiation and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. - Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages, especially Mandarin Chinese, is an advantage.
