Policy Specialist (Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture)

POSITION TITLE: Policy Specialist (Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture) DEPARTMENT: Office of the Director General, Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Regular GRADE: GS10 START DATE: As soon as possible DUTY STATION: Manila, Philippines Background ADB's Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department (SDCC) leads the bank's work in sustainable infrastructure, climate change, and environmental sustainability. It manages high-level advisory and policy dialogue to help advance ADB's strategic priorities in these critical areas. The Policy Specialist (Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture) will support SDCC's role in shaping ADB's policy agenda and operations in environment, natural resources, and agriculture. The Specialist will work with teams across ADB to strengthen policy analysis, knowledge sharing, and dialogue on key issues in these areas. The Policy Specialist will report to the Director of the Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Division of SDCC and will work closely with specialists and teams across the department. Duties and Responsibilities: • Contribute to the development and implementation of ADB's policy agenda in environment, natural resources, and agriculture. This will involve analyzing trends, assessing policy implications, and supporting policy dialogue and knowledge work. • Assist in the design and delivery of capacity building and knowledge sharing activities for ADB staff and developing member countries on key environment, natural resources, and agriculture issues. • Collaborate with sector and thematic teams across ADB to strengthen the policy dimension of their work. • Represent SDCC in policy discussions, meetings, and events related to environment, natural resources, and agriculture. • Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Specialized Skills and Experience: • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as environmental management, natural resources policy, agricultural economics, or a related discipline. • At least 5 years of professional experience in environment, natural resources, or agriculture policy analysis and advisory work, preferably in an international development context. • Strong understanding of global and regional policy frameworks and initiatives related to environment, natural resources, and agriculture. • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other ADB member country languages is an advantage.
