About the role
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accept incoming shipments, inspect for damages, and verify quantities against purchase orders.
- Organize and maintain inventory in storage areas, ensuring items are easily accessible and properly labeled.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials safely within the facility and during the unloading and unloading of trucks.
- Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment according to order specifications.
- Conduct regular checks on materials for quality and accuracy, reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and receipts.
- Adhere to safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep work areas organized and clean, following proper disposal procedures for waste materials.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as shipping and receiving, to coordinate material flow.
- Perform routine maintenance on handling equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Supply welder with necessary materials
- Assist with moving materials in/out of inventory and inventory cycle counts.
- Kitting materials.
- Load/unload plate steel and parts on and off the plasma table.
REQUIREMENTS
- Mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving skills for understanding of root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.
- Capacity to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for job costing and input of other data crucial to tracking KPIs.
- Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks; high physical activity
- Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twist and/or crawl
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted as required.
- Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level and vibration.
- Must be comfortable and able to perform tasks working at heights and on ladders.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Manufacturing: 2 years (Preferred)
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent safety and housekeeping practices.
- Experience with ISO standards or similar quality management systems is a plus.
- Experience in forklift operation.
- Experience in rigging and overhead crane operation.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The role involves working in a noisy, dusty environment and requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- May require occasional overtime and weekend work depending on production schedules.
- 4 day/10-hour shift work week
