Process Technician - Machining - 2nd shift
*This is a safety sensitive position.*

Purpose of the Job

This position functions as support for the Supervisor and production team with a special and main business focus on the technical aspects within the assigned area and field of specialization. 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that operators follow safety procedures
  • Cross-train operators to ensure flexible work force
  • Use problem solving techniques to improve quality and productivity
  • Provide support to deal with any technical issues within area of responsibility
  • Work to continuously improve processes, reduce costs and meet quality standards
  • Implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions 
  • Provide technical support for introduction of new projects
  • Train and support new employees
  • Work with operators to maintain clean work environment through 5S activities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technology diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years manufacturing experience
  • 5 years minimum machining experience
  • Fanuc/Siemens control experience
  • 5 – axis machining experience preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of various measurement tooling
  • Knowledge of tool pre-setter preferred, but not required
  • Able to motivate people
  • Have the ability to train and to coach
  • Willing to work in 3 shift operation
  • Must possess basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel) and be willing and able to perform necessary required documentation
  • Basic skills such as reading, writing, and math
  • Must possess strong communication skills and effective writing skills in the English language.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment and be willing to accommodate flexible working schedules, including shift work.
  • Must be able to demonstrate safe practices and follow safety guidelines.
  • Work under minimal supervision while handling multiple job requirements.
  • Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle items weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in a cross training/cross functioning skill and performance-based team environment.
  • Pass visual and physical exams if required.
  • Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
