We are hiring:
Ascension is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data mining, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
In this role, you will work with a team of data scientists, engineers, and clinicians to develop and deploy data-driven solutions to improve patient care. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other Ascension teams on projects that impact the entire organization.

What You Will Do
Design and construct new processes for data modeling and production using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analysis. Develop analysis, forecasting, and predictive models to improve the quality of Ascension's data science products.
Develop ML models for different use cases: tabular data, images, video, speech, unstructured text.
Articulate business questions and select appropriate statistical and machine learning methods to provide an answer given available data and problem specific constraints.
Confidently solve regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, and anomaly detection problems using established machine learning techniques.
Wear multiple "hats" and help in different roles including; expert analyst, statistician, and applied machine learning engineer.
Communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences, including senior management, the user community, and less-experienced staff. Demonstrate leadership and self-direction. Be willing to both teach others and learn new techniques.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, data engineers, and subject matter experts to develop solutions for data science projects.
Additional Preferences
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of work experience in data analysis related field.
Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (e.g., SQL). Comfortable using Github for version control of code.
4 years of relevant work experience, including expertise with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.
Applied cloud experience with machine learning on large datasets (e.g., AWS, GCP).
