About The Opportunity
This role sits in the Enterprise IT and legacy-systems modernization sector, supporting mission-critical business applications for clients across banking, manufacturing and retail. We are hiring an on-site IBM i/AS400 developer in India to maintain, enhance and modernize core back-office systems that drive day-to-day operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and deploy RPG and CL programs on IBM i (AS/400) according to functional specifications.
- Author and optimize DB2 for i SQL queries, stored procedures and file structures for performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement fixes and apply PTFs to ensure system stability.
- Integrate IBM i applications with external systems using APIs, web services or middleware and support data exchange workflows.
- Participate in application modernization efforts: refactor legacy code, create service programs and support migration initiatives.
- Produce technical documentation, unit tests and collaborate with QA, business analysts and operations for timely deliveries.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent preferred. Prior hands-on experience in IBM i development and production support with strong problem-solving orientation. This is an on-site role based in India.
