Company Description
The Space Technology Accelerator (STAr) at IIT Kanpur accelerates innovation in sensors, optics, communication, and Earth-Observation AI by transforming research breakthroughs into usable payload designs and actionable intelligence tools. Through mission design, rigorous testing, and optimized data workflows, STAr brings concepts from research to flight-ready systems and ground applications efficiently. The program fosters collaboration with researchers, startups, and investors by providing access to advanced facilities, transparent technology readiness level (TRL) milestones, and co-development opportunities. STAr also engages communities through educational outreach, promoting hands-on learning in astronomy, climate studies, and data literacy.
Role Description
This is a contract-based remote role for the position of Artificial Intelligence Intern at the Space Technology Accelerator (STAr). The intern will assist with developing AI models, analyze data, build machine learning algorithms, and contribute to real-world applications in aerospace and Earth observation. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and participate in technical discussions to refine algorithms and explore innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Programming
- Proficiency in Machine Learning algorithms and Data Science principles
- Strong Analytical Skills for problem-solving and data interpretation
- Motivated individual with the ability to work independently and remotely
- Familiarity with AI applications in Earth observation and aerospace is a plus
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
