Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Articleship position in Indirect Tax located in Chennai. The Articleship trainee will assist in handling GST and other indirect tax matters, including preparing returns, supporting tax audits, and drafting documentation and working papers. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching indirect tax issues, analyzing transactions for tax implications, and supporting compliance and advisory assignments under the guidance of senior team members. The role involves coordinating with clients for data collection, maintaining organized tax records, and contributing to internal knowledge-building through updates on changes in tax laws and regulations. The position offers hands-on exposure to diverse client engagements and structured learning in indirect taxation and related advisory work.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and interest in Tax, including Indirect Tax and GST, with a focus on practical application.
- Skills in Tax Planning and Tax Preparation to support compliance and optimization of indirect tax positions.
- Familiarity with Tax Law and basic understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Foundation in Finance, including ability to interpret financial statements and transaction structures.
- Pursuing or completed CA Articleship eligibility (e.g., cleared required CA examination levels) or equivalent professional pathway in accounting and taxation.
- Good analytical, numerical, and research skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Excel and other office tools; exposure to tax or accounting software is an advantage.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
