Role Description
The Articled Assistant will work full time on-site at the Mumbai office, supporting the firm’s GST and related indirect tax engagements. Daily responsibilities include assisting in GST registrations, return preparation and filing, reconciliations, and documentation of working papers. The role involves research on GST provisions, circulars, and case laws, as well as drafting replies to notices and assisting in audits and assessments. The Articled Assistant will coordinate with clients for data collection, maintain accurate records, and support seniors in preparing reports, presentations, and summaries. The position offers structured learning, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to compliance, advisory, and litigation support in indirect taxation.
Qualifications
- Registered as an Article under ICAI and eligible to undertake articleship training, with a strong interest in GST and indirect taxation.
- Sound understanding of basic accounting principles and willingness to learn tax and audit procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic accounting or ERP software; ability to work with large datasets and reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws, rules, and notifications.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and drafting documentation.
- Attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Professional attitude, integrity, and willingness to take initiative and work collaboratively within a team.
- Prior internship or exposure to GST or taxation work is an advantage but not mandatory.
