Role Description The Article Trainee – CA Inter (Indirect Tax Domain) will support the indirect tax team in day-to-day assignments, focusing primarily on GST-related work. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. Responsibilities include assisting in GST compliance, return preparation and filing, working on tax audits, and supporting indirect tax advisory projects under the supervision of senior team members. The role involves reviewing documentation, performing tax calculations, maintaining working papers, and preparing reports and summaries for internal and client use. The trainee will also conduct basic tax research, help with responses to client queries, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of assignments.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have cleared CA Inter both groups and be eligible for articleship training as per ICAI guidelines.
- Strong understanding of Indirect Tax concepts, particularly GST law, rules, and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, with the ability to work with data, prepare workings, and draft documents.
- Good analytical and numerical skills to interpret tax provisions and apply them to practical scenarios.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare documentation and interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a structured professional environment.
- Attention to detail, integrity, and a strong willingness to learn and build expertise in the indirect tax domain.
- Prior internship experience in taxation or audit, and familiarity with tax compliance tools or ERP systems, will be an added advantage.
