Role Description The Article Assistant will support the firm’s assurance, accounting, and tax functions on a full-time basis, working on-site in the Pune Division. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in audit engagements, preparing and reviewing accounting records, supporting tax computations and filings, and helping with compliance documentation. The role involves gathering and analyzing financial data, maintaining working papers, and coordinating with team members to meet assignment deadlines. The Article Assistant will also interact with clients under supervision, contribute to process improvements, and maintain accurate records in line with professional standards and firm policies.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in accounting, auditing, and taxation, with familiarity in Indian accounting standards and basic corporate and direct/indirect tax concepts.
- Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis, documentation, and working paper preparation, including attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic accounting or ERP software; familiarity with tax and audit tools will be an advantage.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear work notes, emails, and basic client communication.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a structured, team-based environment.
- Candidates should possess a learning mindset, professional ethics, and the ability to follow guidelines and work under supervision while taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Enrollment in CA articleship (as per ICAI requirements) or equivalent professional training, and completion of relevant exams or eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Institute.
- Prior internship or exposure in an accounting or CA firm is beneficial but not mandatory; interest in developing a career in audit, accounting, and taxation is essential.
