Role Description The Article Assistant will support the firm’s Chartered Accountants in executing audit, taxation, accounting, and compliance-related work. Day-to-day responsibilities may include assisting in statutory and internal audits, preparing working papers, supporting direct and indirect tax filings (including Income Tax and GST), and helping with ROC filings and corporate law documentation. The role involves maintaining accurate books of accounts, assisting in financial reporting, and conducting basic research on tax, accounting, and regulatory matters. The Article Assistant will collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of assignments and professional communication with clients. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and basic audit procedures.
- Interest or exposure in direct and indirect taxation, including Income Tax and GST compliance.
- Ability to assist with corporate law-related work, ROC filings, and documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools; familiarity with accounting software is an advantage.
- Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured approach to working papers and documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a professional client-facing demeanor.
- Capability to work collaboratively in a team, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Currently pursuing or completed Chartered Accountancy articleship eligibility (as per ICAI norms); commerce degree or related academic background preferred.
- Demonstrated integrity, willingness to learn, and commitment to building a career in audit, taxation, and advisory services.
