Art Director
The Role
ownpath is a design and product company that partners with enterprises and startups to craft great products through its Studios vertical, and upskills designers through its Academy.
Over the past year, we've worked with enterprises such as Philips Innovation, Hero MotoCorp, PhonePe, and others on projects spanning design systems, design ops, and digital product experiences.
We’re growing our team and seeking an Art Director to lead client projects end-to-end, craft compelling brand identities, build scalable visual systems, and guide designers to deliver exceptional brand assets and experiences.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in visual design, brand design, or art direction roles.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating brand identity systems, graphic design, and high-craft visual work.
- Expertise in visual storytelling, typography, composition, and contemporary design aesthetics.
- Proven ability to guide and mentor designers toward consistent, high-quality outcomes.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong taste and a refined design sensibility.
- Comfortable collaborating across teams in fast-paced creative environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in design studios, creative agencies, or brand-led product teams.
- Experience woking in a startup
- Experience shaping visual standards for digital products or content-heavy brands.
What you'll do
- Lead the development and evolution of visual identities and design systems for ownpath and client projects.
- Build scalable, cohesive design systems that maintain quality and consistency across all brand touchpoints.
- Establish clear visual direction, ensuring strong conceptual grounding and high craft.
- Provide hands-on art direction, mentorship, and critique to designers across projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate project goals into effective visual solutions.
- Review and refine design outputs for quality, consistency, and alignment with brand guidelines.
- Maintain high visual standards and ensure they are upheld throughout execution.
