Role Overview:
As the Art Director, you will own the visual expression of the MeantToBe brand across every channel and format. From social media graphics and in-app illustrations to ad campaigns and brand collateral, you will ensure every pixel is intentional, beautiful, and unmistakably ours. Working closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams, you will translate brand strategy into stunning visual work that connects with young, culturally savvy audiences. This role is for a design leader who blends sharp aesthetics with strategic thinking and wants to build the visual identity of a global brand from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
Visual Identity & Design Systems:
- Own and evolve the brand’s visual identity.
- Build and maintain a scalable design system that ensures consistency across all touchpoints.
- Create mood boards, style guides, and visual frameworks that the broader team can execute against.
Campaign & Content Art Direction:
- Direct integrated marketing campaigns across social, digital, OOH, and experiential channels.
- Conceptualize and oversee production of visual assets including static, motion, and video content.
- Direct photo and video shoots, providing clear creative briefs and on-set art direction.
Product & In-App Design Collaboration:
- Partner with Product and Design teams to ensure the in-app experience reflects the brand’s visual identity.
- Contribute to the design of key product moments - onboarding, matching, profiles, etc.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Work alongside designers, illustrators, and motion artists, providing feedback and elevating quality.
- Collaborate with copywriters to ensure visual and verbal messaging work seamlessly together.
- Manage external design vendors, illustrators, and production houses as needed.
- Culture & Trend Awareness:
- Stay on top of design trends, cultural movements, and industry aesthetics across dating, social, and lifestyle categories.
- Bring fresh visual inspiration and push the brand’s creative boundaries continuously.
Who You Are:
- Experience: 5-8 years in art direction or visual design, with a strong portfolio spanning brand identity, digital campaigns, and social content.
- Design Craft: Exceptional eye for typography, layout, colour, and composition.
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to connect visual decisions to brand strategy and audience insights.
- Versatile: Comfortable working across formats - from Instagram Reels to billboard campaigns to in-app UI.
- Collaborative: Strong communicator who thrives working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Passionate: Genuine love for design, culture, and the consumer tech space.
