Assistant Boys Golf Coach – Argo High School
Argo High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Boys Golf Coach to support the development of our student-athletes both on and off the course. This position works closely with the Head Coach to implement practice plans, support skill development, and foster a positive, competitive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and match preparation
- Support player development, including swing fundamentals, course management, and rules knowledge
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic accountability
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, and team activities
- Help with match-day operations, scorekeeping, and lineup management
- Ensure compliance with school, conference, and IHSA guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous golf coaching or playing experience preferred
- Knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and course etiquette
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, and parents
- Must meet all district and IHSA coaching requirements (including certifications)
