Role Description
The Area Sales Manager - SME role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The primary responsibilities include driving sales within the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector, managing and developing relationships with clients in the assigned territory, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. This individual will oversee a team of sales professionals, provide training and motivation, and track performance metrics. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with various distribution channels such as brokers, agents, and banks, strategizing marketing campaigns, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage and maintain partnerships with clients and distribution partners.
- Proven expertise in sales strategy, marketing campaigns, and business development, particularly in the SME or insurance domain.
- Leadership capabilities to manage and motivate a sales team effectively and achieve organizational goals.
- Good understanding of insurance products, preferably with knowledge of IRDAI-approved non-life insurance policies and SME packages.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with proficiency in using sales and reporting tools to track and measure team performance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to present strategies, reports, and proposals effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA would be an added advantage.
- Previous experience in sales and team management within the general insurance or financial sector is preferred.
