Responsible for channel management and key account management of an assigned set of modern trade accounts, driving business results while ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability. The ASM grows value and volume share within existing key accounts, acquires new accounts with the right product mix, manages the regional merchandising team, and maintains strong partnerships with category managers and internal support functions.
*Detailed Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Account Management:
Maintain and grow existing key accounts while pursuing new customer acquisition with the right product mix.
Increase both value and volume share within existing key accounts by driving distribution and market penetration.
Generate revenue through effective key account management and consistently achieve assigned sales targets.
Sales Pipeline & Forecasting:
Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and prepare regular forecasts to enable effective forward planning and target achievement.
Track account performance against targets and initiate timely corrective actions where required.
Customer Escalations & Negotiations:
Manage customer escalations and resolve customer problems in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in and lead important negotiations with key accounts to secure favourable terms and sustained business growth.
Relationship Management & Cross-functional Liaison:
Build and nurture strong relationships with category managers across all assigned key accounts.
Maintain close liaison with internal sales support functions including SCM, Commercial, Finance, and HR to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Merchandising Oversight:
Lead, guide, and manage the regional team of merchandisers to ensure flawless in-store execution.
Monitor merchandising standards, planogram compliance, and product visibility across all assigned modern trade outlets.
Key Decisions:
· Revenue Achievement: Monthly/quarterly sales targets met across assigned modern trade key accounts.
· Value & Volume Growth: Increase in share within existing key accounts through distribution and penetration.
· New Account Acquisition: Number of new modern trade accounts onboarded with the right product mix.
· Forecast Accuracy: Reliability and timeliness of sales pipeline and forward planning forecasts.
· Customer Satisfaction: Effective resolution of escalations and strength of category manager relationships.
· Merchandising Compliance: In-store execution standards and planogram adherence across the regional team.
Job Specifications:
Minimum Educational Qualification: MBA / Post Graduation in Sales & Marketing
Industry Experience (Years & Industry): Minimum 5–6 years of experience in FMCG Modern Trade; Beverage industry experience preferred
Key Skills & Competencies:
· Good command over English Language; proficiency in local language is an advantage.
· Computer skills are mandatory (MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Strong key account management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to manage and lead a regional field team of merchandisers effectively.
· Analytical and planning orientation with experience in sales forecasting and pipeline management.
