Job Purpose
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for managing wholesale business operations across North & South Karnataka, ensuring sales growth, distributor management, market expansion, payment collection, and smooth execution of sales activities within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
• Drive primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory.
• Ensure achievement of monthly sales targets and business objectives.
• Identify market gaps and appoint new distributors/customers as per company requirements.
• Support new product launches and market expansion activities.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
Distributor & Customer Management
• Maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and wholesale customers.
• Regularly follow up on orders, secondary sales, stock movement, and payment collections.
• Ensure product availability as per market and customer demand.
• Resolve customer and product-related issues in coordination with the company.
Market Coverage & Territory Management
• Handle existing wholesale customers across North & South Karnataka.
• Develop replacement markets and expand customer base in assigned territories.
• Conduct regular market visits and ensure effective territory coverage.
Reporting & Compliance
• Submit daily sales and attendance updates in the reporting group.
• Share regular market feedback and business updates with management.
• Submit TA/DA claims before the 15th of the following month.
• Coordinate and submit customer claims, if any, within timelines.
Required Skills & Competencies
Minimum 5 years experience as Area Sales Manager in Karnataka region
• Strong knowledge of FMCG wholesale market operations
• Distributor and channel management experience
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Market analysis and problem-solving ability
• Good market knowledge of Karnataka region
• Ability to travel extensively across assigned territories
