The Mission
As Area Sales Manager, you are the lead advocate for the homeowner and business owners. Your mission is to scale Teru’s market presence by building a team that consults on Energy Abundance. You will lead a high-velocity B2C team to ensure every consumer interaction is rooted in transparency, data-driven confidence, and a world-class customer experience.
Role Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and scaling our B2C sales operations in Kanpur. This role involves managing a team of Inside and Field Sales Trainees, driving high-velocity conversion of leads into battery-solar installations, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction (NPS). You will be expected to combine strategic team management with direct, hands-on closing of high-value B2C contracts. This is a field role and requires extensive travel around the city, with some travel to other areas.
Key Responsibilities
· Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10+ sales trainees. Conduct daily performance reviews, provide on-ground training, and ensure the team meets weekly and monthly conversion targets.
· Sales Execution: Own the full sales lifecycle from lead qualification to final contract signing. Step in to lead high-value or complex home and business consultations to ensure successful closures.
· Account Management & NPS: Act as the ultimate point of accountability for the customer journey. Monitor and improve Net Promoter Scores (NPS) by ensuring a transparent and professional sales process.
· Pipeline Optimization: Analyze sales data to identify bottlenecks in the conversion funnel. Work with the founding team to refine sales scripts, pitch decks, and digital tools.
· Market Intelligence: Stay updated on local energy trends, competitor pricing, and consumer preferences to maintain a competitive edge in the Kanpur market.
Requirements
· Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in direct B2C sales or business development.
· Industry Expertise: A strong background in Energy (Solar, Inverters, Diesel Gensets) or Consumer Electronics.
· Leadership: Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a sales force in a fast-paced environments.
· Communication: Elite negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical and financial ROI concepts to homeowners and officials clearly.
· Education: MBA/ BTech from a reputable institution is preferred.
