Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Area Sales Manager role based in Gwalior. The Area Sales Manager will oversee sales operations within the assigned territory, including planning and executing sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets. Responsibilities include managing and supporting a field sales team, regularly visiting healthcare professionals, pharmacies, and distributors, and building strong, long-term customer relationships. The role involves monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and risks, and preparing periodic sales forecasts and performance reports. The Area Sales Manager will also coordinate with supply chain, marketing, and management teams to ensure product availability, timely deliveries, and effective implementation of promotional initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven skills in territory management, sales planning, and achieving or exceeding sales targets in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service abilities to engage healthcare professionals, distributors, and channel partners.
- Experience leading or mentoring a field sales team, including performance monitoring, goal setting, and on-the-job coaching.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills, including the ability to interpret sales data, market insights, and use basic MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and relevant regional languages, with confident presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical market dynamics, distribution channels, and compliance with applicable regulations and ethical sales practices.
- Ability to work independently in the field, travel extensively within the territory, and adapt to a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
