ROLE
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Area Sales Manager based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing sales operations in South India & Sri Lanka. The key responsibilities include developing and implementing sales strategies, managing customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The role involves achieving sales budgets, preparing proposals, negotiating agreements, and working closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To achieve budgeted OI, Sales, and Gross Margin in region for the sales and after-sales functions
- To ensure collections of payments within defined credit period.
- To ensure thoroughly understanding of customer's needs & specification and submit quotes within defined timeline along with precise communication on all techno-commercial points.
- To constantly monitor market growth, competitors' activities, and identify opportunities for business growth. Creating and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue and increase market share in designated territory.
- Ensuring high-quality customer service and satisfaction by overseeing after-sales support, spare business, warranty services, and product maintenance. Maintaining strong relationships with key clients within the region.
- Collaborating with marketing, product, and other departments to align strategies and ensure a unified approach.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Clients, distributors, agents, peers, colleagues etc.
- Monitoring sales metrics, analysing data, and providing reports on sales performance.
- Ensure that the Country Sales Manager and Managing Director are kept regularly updated with authentic, unbiased, and transparent communications.
- Ensuring to operates within company policies, legal guidelines, and ethical standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Process/Mechanical Engineering with at least 05-07 years of relevant experience.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
- Should have a very good knowledge on pneumatic conveying product, system, or solutions.
- Ability to critically analyse and arrive at root causes for gaps in equipment performance.
- Experience in creating & implementing sales strategies.
- Should have experience of Milk & Dairy, Food & Petfood, Specialty Chemicals, Paints & Pigments, Petrochemicals, Plastics, Power, Renewable Energy, Batteries etc. markets within South Region of India.
- Good understating of “Value Selling”.
- Good interpersonal skills at various levels including overseas stakeholders.
- Willing to travel minimum at least 70% of the time within territory including Sri Lanka.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and basic knowledge of industry regulations is preferred.
- Proficient in English (speaking, reading and writing).
