Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Area Sales Manager role based in West Delhi. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing and expanding business in the assigned territory, and ensuring effective implementation of sales strategies. Daily activities include leading and coaching a team of medical representatives, planning field visits, monitoring territory performance, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, distributors, and key accounts. The role involves analyzing market trends and competitor activities, executing product promotion plans, organizing doctor meetings and CMEs, and ensuring timely reporting and compliance with company policies. The Area Sales Manager will also collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to support product availability and drive sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales with a track record of meeting or exceeding area/territory sales targets.
- Strong team leadership and people management skills, including mentoring, performance monitoring, and field coaching of sales teams.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, channel partners, distributors, and key accounts.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, including competitor analysis, territory planning, and product positioning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey clinical and product information clearly.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills for reviewing sales data, forecasting, and preparing territory performance reports.
- High level of self-motivation, ownership, and ethical conduct, with readiness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience managing a team in West Delhi or similar metro/urban markets will be considered a strong plus.
