Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Area Sales Manager – Cardiac Device Division based in Puducherry. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets for cardiac devices within the assigned territory, managing key accounts, and developing strong, long-term relationships with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cath lab teams, and hospital administrators. Daily activities include planning and conducting product presentations, demonstrations, and trainings, as well as providing procedure support and clinical insights to healthcare professionals. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, expanding market share, executing territory-wise sales plans, and monitoring competitor activity. The Area Sales Manager will also be expected to maintain accurate sales reports, forecast demand, coordinate with internal teams on supply and marketing initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical device sales, preferably in cardiology, interventional cardiology, or related cardiovascular product lines.
- Strong territory management skills, including pipeline development, account planning, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, cath lab staff, hospital decision-makers, and distributors.
- Effective communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate clinical benefits into commercial value.
- Sound understanding of hospital procurement processes, tendering, and pricing strategies in the healthcare sector.
- Comfort working in cath lab and clinical environments, with the ability to provide on-site product and procedure support when required.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills to track sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams such as marketing, logistics, and clinical support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent business qualification is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally beyond, as business needs require.
