Job Purpose
Manage marketing and pricing needs for the Asia Area, including Product Management, Min. Pricing Strategy, Marketing Plans collaboration, and S&OP coordination, while driving effective asset management and portfolio optimization across plants. This role serves as a critical bridge between Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, and R&D to maximize profitability and ensure seamless commercial operations.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Manage marketing and pricing needs for the Area with the objective of maximizing profitability of Birla Carbon through asset management, pricing strategy, and support for RFQ processes. Drive Marketing Plans, Minimum Pricing, and promotional activities.
Key Challenges:
• Balancing global pricing frameworks with regional market dynamics across diverse Asia markets
• Cross-functional coordination across geographically dispersed plants (India, Thailand, Korea, China)
• Aligning commercial objectives with operational constraints and production capacity
• Navigating impact of feedstock price volatility on product pricing

KRA1
1) Product management - Support Product Management process including price and margin analysis, price and volume scenario development, and plant portfolio optimization.
• Active participation in the S&OP process, ensuring demand-supply alignment across Asia plants
• Evaluate scenarios for pricing and volume trade-offs
• Provide portfolio optimization recommendations based on plant capabilities and market demand

2) Marketing Plans - Compile and maintain Marketing Plans for the Asia Area, according to the Birla Carbon Marketing Plan Template.
• Facilitate implementation and track effectiveness
• Ensure alignment with global marketing strategy

3) Pricing Strategy & Governance - Define and update Minimum Prices for products produced on the assets in the Area. Own pricing governance for Asia.
• Support Sales Head annual RFQ processes
• Ensure effective min pricing process aligned with frameworks and regional market dynamics

4) Team development - Support, prepare, and develop Marketing managers for
performance leverage and professional progression
• Foster a culture of analytical thinking and commercial acumen within the team
• Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports
• Identify skill gaps and create development plans

5) Reporting - Use reporting tools to identifyleakage or outliersthat require analysis. Drive data-driven decision making.
• Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Technology to solve problems
• Develop dashboards and MIS for pricing, margin analysis, and S&OP metrics
• Provide periodic business analysis to leadership

6) S&OP Coordination & Asset Management
Drive seamless coordination of S&OP operations across Asia plants. Support asset management decisions through data-driven portfolio analysis.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Sales for demand-supply balancing
• Provide pricing inputs based on feedstock oil procurement
• Drive asset utilization optimization through cross-plant coordination
• Ensure S&OP process discipline and timely execution

7) Supporting NPD/R&D on Business cases- Support new productdevelopment and capitalprojects with businessplans
