Roles & Responsibilities
Build and manage the dealer and retailer channel in the assigned area so coverage deepens, new partners are activated and the network compounds over time-
- Appoint distributors, dealers and trade partners in the assigned area — identifying the right partner profile, conducting due diligence and onboarding with commercial terms
- Set sales targets for appointed distributors and dealers, monitor their performance regularly and implement scheme and incentive entitlements based on achievement
- Organise meetings, conferences, product demonstrations and promotional events for channel partners in the area to drive engagement, product knowledge and ordering activity
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential channel partners through regular visits, structured follow-ups and effective communication
- Achieve ambitious sales targets set by the Cluster Head by translating area plans into daily and weekly field execution with clear priority outlets and call plans
Drive product approvals and business development with builders, contractors, architects and project developers so Birla Pivot products are specified and ordered across the area-
- Engage with contractors, builders, project developers, interior designers and architects to get Birla Pivot products approved for projects across the area
- Organise product samples, mock-ups and showroom visits for prospective and existing customers to demonstrate product quality, application range and value
- Drive area revenue objectives by acquiring new customers and upselling to existing ones across the full product portfolio
- Connect the Birla Pivot sales team with customers who have approved products for onward enquiry process management and order conversion
- Proactively generate sales leads through extensive market research, field intelligence and relationship-based referrals within the assigned area
Manage area commercial performance — sales targets, collections and product portfolio — so the area consistently delivers its revenue and profitability contribution to the cluster-
- Plan and monitor area sales targets on a weekly basis — tracking achievement by dealer, product and segment and identifying corrective actions without waiting for escalation
- Follow up on payment as per the collections plan — ensuring timely collections from all outstanding receivables through systematic tracking and dealer engagement
- Manage the product portfolio for the area by analysing sales data, identifying trends and recommending new product additions that match area demand and customer preferences
- Benchmark the area against competitors — understanding local pricing, product range and channel terms — and provide validated inputs for the cluster’s channel sales MIS
- Work collaboratively with the Cluster Head to track credit utilisation and requirements for assigned dealers and identify suitable partners for participation in the company’s financial credit programme
Drive digital adoption and platform usage among area dealers and retailers so the channel becomes increasingly self-serve and Birla Pivot’s platform becomes the default ordering tool-
- Assist dealers and retailers with placing orders digitally by setting up meetings, assessing their needs and navigating the online platform alongside them during initial adoption
- Proactively generate sales leads and support platform onboarding through targeted field engagement — demonstrating how digital ordering saves time and improves order accuracy
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s product portfolio to effectively recommend solutions to dealers, retailers and end customers across all product categories
- Actively contribute to the execution of new retail initiatives, promotional campaigns and product launches within the area — ensuring local execution quality matches company standards
- Provide structured field reports on market development, competitive activity and digital adoption progress to the Cluster Head on a regular cadence
Ensure outstanding customer experience and efficient operations within the area so dealer satisfaction remains high and service issues are resolved without escalation-
- Resolve service and quality issues promptly and efficiently — taking personal ownership of dealer and customer complaints until they are fully resolved
- Work closely with supply chain, operations and sourcing teams to ensure proper order execution, timely deliveries and accurate fulfilment across the area
- Seek product feedback from dealers, retailers and end users — including site visits to in-progress and completed projects — and relay structured insights to the Cluster Head
- Troubleshoot fulfilment and service issues at the field level — distinguishing issues that can be resolved locally from those that require cluster or regional escalation
- Maintain open communication with all channel partners in the area to address concerns proactively and build long-term relationships based on trust and reliability
