POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Cashier Supervisor position supports the General and Store Manager with day-to-day operations. Primarily, a working cashier position that also supervisors and provides support to cashiers and stocker greeters.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cashier Supervisor is responsible for assisting and supporting a team of cashiers and ensuring the accuracy and completion of business and sales transactions and providing exceptional customer service. The Supervisor is equally responsible for assisting customers with orders and sales transactions and conducting sales.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and supervise retail/wholesale cashiers and provide training and guidance as needed.
- Ensure accuracy in all customer and business transactions.
- Assist customers with purchase orders and assume a lead position when addressing and resolving customer questions, issues, and ore concerns.
- Supervise and verify sales/order transactions via cash register and Point of Service sales logs and receipts.
- Ensure the accuracy and completion of sales and purchases and payment transactions.
- Balance sales transactions to Company and customer receipts and balance cash drawers.
- Cross-check account balance and records at the end of daily operations to ensure that items bought are in line with amounts recorded.
- Ensure starting and ending cash is accounting for, balanced and verified.
- Assist with stocking merchandise, front-facing products, and keep an orderly and clean work area.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to include cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash and keeping the parking lot areas clean.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- May also include the supervision of Greeter/Stocker positions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma General Education Diploma (GED) required.
- Ability to Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide, compute mathematics and figures and conduct business and monetary transactions.
- A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and three (3) years of cashier experience in a face-paced retail and wholesale industry and environment.
- Advanced computer and cash register operations and excellent cash handling skills.
- Knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
- Minimum of three (3) years of cashier and customer service experience.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures and to lead by example as leader.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and provide effective solutions.
- Ability to speak English and to effectively communicate verbally and written.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- One to Three (1 – 3) years of cashier and customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Written & Verbal).
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine interest in providing exceptional service.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks and work assignments.
- Effective ability to pay attention to detail(s) and identify and correct errors.
- Responsible for working safely and reporting on potential unsafe work conditions.
- Responsible for completing the required safety and Hazmat training as assigned.
- Complete all tasks with a sense of urgency, in a timely manner.
- Work safely and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
